3 Cases of Treatment of Mandibular Condyle Neck Fractures Via Oblique Osteotomy of Mandibular Ramus


Abstract
This 3 cases are reports that are reduction and fixation of displaced mandibular condyle neck fractures by oblique osteotomy of mandibular ramus.
The authors have applied oblique osteotomy of ramus iri the 3 patients with displaced condylar neck fractures.
Then the posterior segment of ascending ramus and the fractured displaced condylar head were removed out from the body, and reduction and fixation was performed, and thereafter the fixated segment was replanted to its original site.
After 2-3 weeks intermaxillary fixation, the functional and physical therapy were performed, then the normal mouth opening state, normal TMJ function, no subjective symptoms were noted.
